In an open panel discussion at QuPharma’s Open Day 2024, Ergo Quantum’s Sid Sridharan joined a panel of other experts to discuss the future of quantum and pharma. As highlighted in QuPharma’s report, an exciting discussion ensued on whether fault tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) is needed to meet pharmaceutical industry challenges. The panel discussed the fact that speedup is not the only benefit offered by quantum and indeed “the advantages of quantum machine learning [QML] may lie in its resilience to noise in the data, improvements in accuracy, or better generalisation”.
Ergo Quantum is pioneering techniques in QML to address the pressing need for explainable and noise-resilient technologies to handle massive data that forms the cornerstone of many future AI applications. Additionally, by harnessing the expressive power of quantum, we are delivering the bleeding-edge accuracy needed for breakthroughs in the frontiers of industries like pharma and chemicals.
